NUTRITION

Canada’s Food Guide recommends that Canadians eat at least two servings (75 grams each) every week (1). This is because eating seafood can lead to fewer instances of chronic and preventable diseases (2), especially when it comes to cardiac health (1). In order to obtain the most health benefits from your seafood, look for the seafood species that contain the highest amounts of healthy fats called omega-3 fatty acids (3). Sablefish has been found to be one of the fish species with the highest amounts of omega-3 fatty acids at over 1000mg packed into every 4oz cooked portion (4).
